Work-life Balance: Your Boss Is Bad For You: Why... →
Those of us who have had to deal with annoying or aggravating bosses know how it’s tough to shake it off at the end of the day, but a new study explains why it’s so hard, and why so many of us suck at it and wind up bringing our stress home—where it doesn’t just hurt you:

Reason 9 - People don't understand the concept of...
Today I had about twenty things on my list of stuff to do because for some reason after our usual morning meeting from hell, we had a back-to-back-er. I was subjected to a heated debate about inventory and handed any miscellaneous task that was thrown on the table. Oh did I mention I do two people’s jobs but I am one person with one really shitty salary? Allow me to mention that. So my...

The H in HR is for human, not highfalutin
deskjockeyshorts: I guess social skills are not required if you work in HR. If you say hello to Rachael in HR, she will say hello back. But she’ll also look like it takes a lot of strenuous effort and that it pains some vital part of her.  Hence the Office Bitch referennced in the posts below. Thank you.

Reason 8: It is a problem that we POOP in a...
The office bitch strikes again. I mean honestly, who else would you think causes the marjority of the reasons my job makes me want to bash my head into a wall? (which would be more productive than listening to a word she says) Today she has a single complaint: We should not poop in the bathroom because *drumroll please* she does not like the SMELL of the LYSOL. If you did not get that the first...

Reason 7 - They think an office is equivalent to a...
I am not sure their thought process and it frightens me too much to explore any further but possibly it is “we will save money if we make all of our employees sick by keeping the thermostat at sixty while it is twenty degrees out”. Or maybe we can save money on the ridiculous last minute scheduling and canceling we do of our transportation. Or maybe we can save money on the Office...

Reason 6 - They Contradict What They Said ... Just...
It is another glorious morning in hell (aka my workplace) and we are all sitting down for our thoroughly useless morning meeting. As I slip into a day dream of freeing myself from the bondage of the misery that is my job - I am harshly interrupted. HARK! What is this? Why it is the office bitch (apparently everybody has one, so I’ve heard) and unfortunately she is on one of her miserable...

Reason 5: They Contradict What They Have...
I have been told time and time again that we do not want a certain product due to its specifications. I have asked at least once per week for the last month whether or not we want this product and how I should respond to people who are offering it to me. I have a list of people who sell this product the length of my arm - NOT AN EXAGGERATION.   All of a sudden the president of my company forwards...

Reason 4: I'm the office bitch
Let’s pretend that I accept the fact that I’m the office bitch. This scenario is completely unrealistic. But let’s play pretend. My boss is the man who hired me. I accept this. Therefore, if he wants me to wipe his ass after every shit he takes, I do it. Why? Because he is the one who hired me and signs my check at the end of the week. HOWEVER! This does not mean that I...

PSA
DO NOT WORK FOR CORPORATE AMERICA. DON’T DO IT! DON’T EVER DO IT! There is no security in this industry, and you have to basically sell your soul to get into it. The “in” you think have with someone you know on the inside is a hoax. They stab you in the back the first chance they get, no questions asked. The MS Excel reports are plentiful, and maddening. If you see...

Reason 3: I'm mistaken as an indentured servant
File this under “Things Not In My Job Description” Let me paint you a picture. Yesterday late afternoon. Mr. Boss Man is in the kitchen rummaging around for some food. It should be noted at this time that there has been a small stock pile of microwaveable soups and chili in the cupboard for as long as I’ve been here. Cut back to the kitchen. Mr. Boss Man is talking aloud to...

Reason 2: I Can Type
This is why I do not like being capable of typing and why this makes me hate my job - because my boss has my college educated fingers construct emails FOR him, FROM him. He actually SENDS ME AN EMAIL to tell me to WRITE AN EMAIL FOR HIM. I hate my job.

Written-up for Insubordination…?
I work at an asian food restaurant, called Pick Up Stix. Been there for 6 months now.Anyways, my story goes like this. I work with all girls, and a NEW manager. Her name is Diana. Diana was the dumbest bitch I’ve ever worked for, always in the way thinking shes helping, always freaking out when it gets too busy. My shift leader at the time was a girl named Katelyn, and she HATED Diana. She...

Reason 1: Poor "Management" of Tasks ... Pun...
So my “manager” (I use the term loosely) calls me in the other day proceeeds to have this entire rantfest or “conversation” as she calls it at me (not to me, never to me) last week about how I am supposedly not following up on this certain group of people. Mind you - at least 75% I have had conversations with and the rest I have left messages and emails for and they have...

Why I started this page ...
We are not alone. We are the underpaid, overworked and overeducated lower to middle class slaves to the dollar. We live paycheck to paycheck. We worry about where our lives are going. We scream silently as we sit at our desks dying a little bit inside each day. There are some reasons to be grateful for a job but we have at least 1001 Reasons We Hate Our Jobs.
